McCormick 24 and 12 Hour Saturday, September 12, 2026 McCormick Forest Park

Welcome to McCormick 24—where endurance meets determination. With 24-hour, 12-hour day, and 12-hour night options, this race invites you to push beyond your comfort zone. The 2.25 mile loop packs a punch, delivering varied terrain and roughly 320 feet of climb each lap. How far are you willing to go?

Race Information

The start/finish and aid station will be located in an open field within the park, approximately 0.10 miles from the main trailhead. Multiple canopy tents will be set up in this area, including a designated tent for runner use. Participants are welcome to bring their own canopy tents to set up in this space; however, space is limited. Drop bags will be permitted for all participants. We will feature Skratch electrolytes and both hot and cold food items.

We have 3 distance/timed event offerings.

24 Hour: 7:00am start on 9/12

12 Hour Day: 7:00am start on 9/12

12 Hour Night: 7:00pm start on 9/12

Packet pick-up will begin at 6:15am on 9/12 for 7:00am starters and 6:15pm for 7:00pm starters.

Course Map

The course features varied terrain, starting on a wide double-track trail before transitioning onto single track. The first mile is an easy, runnable cruise, setting you up for what comes next. Mile two delivers the bulk of the climb, with pockets of technical terrain and rewarding views of the ravine overlooking the creek below.

The loop itself is approximately 2.25 miles with roughly 320 feet of elevation gain.

​

Course markings will be placed every 0.10 miles with clothes pins that have reflectors and yellow and orange streamers attached.

Parking

Parking at this location can be challenging, though all parking options are nearby. Off-road parking is available near the trailhead. Additional parking can be found across the street in the fire department lot and the fire department training lot. Please plan accordingly and consider carpooling if possible. We will be posting pictures of parking locations here soon.

Elevation Profile and Awards

Please note the elevation profile of the course in the photo to the right.

All participants will receive a finisher award. Belt buckles will be awarded to anyone who runs 100 miles or more in their event.
